Wine Review: "The 2021 George Duboeuf, Beaujolais-Village Nouveau from the Burgundy wine region, offers fresh fruity aromas of sour cherry, fresh strawberry, rhubarb, violet and banana. This easy-drinking Gamay, shows powerful flavors of cherry, pomegranate, dandelion, plum and truffle. Enjoy!" (Christian Marcoux)
Wine Folly: Pg. 113, The wine folly describes Gamay as a fruity and floral wine, the fruity description was definitely true for this tasting. Additionally, it mentions that the wine is best in a cellar between 1-5 years. For this tasting, the wine had been stored for 26 years, and that is probably why it was so jammy.
My Review: Unfortunately this wine was cooked in storage. After opening the wine and pouring it out the color seemed to be more brown/copper. The smell was very jammy and very strong. After a small taste of the wine, I noted it as very acidic, and sweet and ended up dumping the rest out. I would like to try this brand of wine but a bottle that is still good.
